Drastic drop in LRD from OSE report has me confused... Any idea why?
-
We just got our report from OSE and a week ago we had over 80 LRD's with DA34/PA44 and now we see only 27 LRD's DA32/PA34? Why such a significant drop in our LRD's which I'm sure has affected everything else in the software.
We checked Google Webmasters and don't see a drop in our linking URLs. We see it fluctuate all the time, but nothing like this. I'm not so much concerned with DA/PA at the moment as I know that dropped from lack of data the system can read, but why did over 60% of our LRDs disappear overnight?
Anyone else seeing this happen to them? Our URL is whiteboardcreations.com

Hi Patrick,
My name is Erin, and I'm on the Moz Help Team. Thanks for reaching out! This question is a little tricky, as I can't see any historic page level data from OSE. All I can check is historic domain level data within your campaign. I looked at your historic data in your Competitive Link Metrics, and I didn't see any dramatic change there to reflect this kind of a drop in your LDR's.
We are kicking around ideas on better historical databases, but there's nothing set in stone right now. Currently the only data points we have are based on domains in the current index. I apologize that I don't have a more concrete answer for you, but this is the best I've got with the tools available to me. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected].
Happy Friday!
Erin

Drop in rankings following a migration
Hi we have recently migrated our website and while I expected some drop in visibility I didnt expect a huge drop and definitely not a big drop in MozRank and MozTrust. But we went from 4.34 to 3.69 on Domain Rank and 4.42 to 3.85 in MozTrust. That to me looks like a lot. Particularly since I have been building links and it should be going up not down. We dont buy links and really dont employ any black hat link building. Now at the same time our total link profile looks massive. Apparently we have 18k of links. there is no way this is correct. Our competitors all have below 5k. The total links have grown from 13k to 18k in a month as well. Where is this coming from? Is there any way of seeing what these links are? Our visibility went up actually after the launch. Main keyword campaign went from 1.59% to 6.13% then to 7.53% at first. Which made sense since the new site has much better on page optimisation. But now this dropped again to 2.37%. Our competitors visibility is much more stable then that. I know some fluctuations is normal but these fluctuations seem a bit drastic. Are they? We still have a few 404s to sort out and quite a bit of re-directs on the page. But other then having impact on speed this should not influence the rankings so severely. Should it? Before we migrated the site I followed the instruction given by Moz https://mza.seotoolninja.com/blog/web-site-migration-guide-tips-for-seos and yet there are all these issues that are popping up. It's disappointing that I made all this effort prior to migrating plus made sure our new page is much better in terms of SEO (I mean I even developed a pagination strategy to get rid of the duplicates!) and it doesnt seem like its paying of. Any help is much appreciated. Id say my SEO understanding is mid range but Im really interested in it and keen on building my skills. And this is really discouraging if Im honest. Please help

Backlinks dropped in OSE
Hi Webmaster, I just checked my website backlinks In MOZ OSE (Open Sire Explorer) tool, from the recent report history, I took the following details, June 29,2014 - 775 links
Link Explorer | | zco_seo
Aug 13,2014 - 783 links
Apr 06,2015 - 861 links
Aug 10,2015 - 880 links
Sep 16,2015 - 880 links
Feb 16,2016 - 569 links
Mar 03,2016 - 672 links
Mar 23,2016 - 55 links (Only coming from blog comments, also different targeted pages, I just removed few blog & forum links, that was around 100 only) Is there any tool issue? But In Google search Console (Google Webmasters Tool) it was saying more backlinks. But, at the same time, I checked my competitors website too, they were having more links with target page only. If anyone know the answer for this, it will be good for us. Thanks in advance,
Cheers,

Top Pages in OSE
Hey, I'm using OSE to determine top pages for some domains. This works great for some sites, but I'm finding with a few sites only the home page comes up in the 'top pages' list - is this because the home page is the only one with a PA above one? Cheers

Where can I see the list of the new backlinks reported?
In my dashboard I see a +875 in external links. Now they are 1,130. This sounds worrying rother than good news! I'd like to get an explaination but how can I see where these links come from? And when? How can be explained a steep increase in the link count from the last index? Also, a minor question, where can I find the increase percentage? I am able to see only the absolute count.

Reports not up-to-date and competitive analysis
Hello everyone, I’d like to ask you a question regarding how to use Moz for competition analysis: I am assessing what the competition is doing and, at this stage, I was looking at how they built their internal link structure. However, the data I get from Moz at times are not consistent with what I see on the actual sites. For example, I was analyzing one specific page looking at its internal links, and the report was showing a much smaller number of linking pages than there actually are and this is because the index might not have picked up the changes yet, which makes sense. The thing is: how can I make a reliable analysis when the data I get may be outdated and a couple of months old? Thanks 🙂

Discrepancy between OSE internal links and Webmaster Tools
Hi, We have been attempting to increase our rankings for our key term for a number of months now, and we are seeing an unusual discrepancy between OSE and Webmaster Tools that we believe may be causing us harm. OSE shows our homepage, www.unionroom.com, as having only 27 internal links (only three of these aren't 301's too), whereas Webmaster Tools is showing just over 1,500 internal links to the homepage. The three pages that OSE are displaying as linking back to the homepage are the homepage, our blog and our accessibility page. These pages are all ran off the same template and have the same header and footer (with three home links spread across header and footer). You can see our confusion! Is this a case of OSE's stats being incorrect (the website has been live for ~6 months) or is there an issue with our in-linking structure that we are missing? Thanks!

Does the inbound links report include links to all pages of the domain being researched?
If I enter 'abc.com' am I only getting results for 'abc.com' or will I get results for the internal pages of 'abc.com' as well (i.e. 'abc.com/page1.html)? There is a bit of a discrepancy between these results and inbound link results in semrush for example. Then again it seems whenever you use different tools to measure the same thing you get wildly varying results. How do you all deal with that?
