I have over 23,000 inbound links from Booksie.com

I have recently had a HUGE SEO issue costing my organization 250K a month in sales - looking under all rocks now - this is something that has existed and I cannot find any issues related with the self-publishing website, but thought y'all may know.

Hi Michelle,
As Robert has said below, it's hard to say for sure if those links are hurting you without having a closer look at your website. However it does sound like an unusual amount of links to have if you're not aware of any kind of a partnership between your website and Booksie.com.
I did notice that on pages such as this:
http://www.booksie.com/young_adult/novel/suzannee/beating-the-player/chapter/1
There are comments which link back to profile pages. Without looking at your site, I'd venture a guess that these are the types of pages that the links are coming from? If so, it may be that someone is automatically creating the profiles and linking to you from them. If this is the case, then these probably are links that Google are not going to like.
If you can determine that they are definitely low quality links, then you should try to remove them and if you can't, you should disavow them using Google Webmaster Tools. This blog post may help you learn more about this topic:

I hope that helps!

Hello Michelle,
This definitely sounds like spammy behavior (and is likely being treated as such by Googlebot). Without access to your site and determining the relevant link profiles, it's hard to say for sure. That being said, it sounds like removal might be your best bet in this situation as at best you are receiving very low link quality from so many inbounds and at worst you are being punished for something you didn't ask for.
Based on the function of booksie.com, this might be reflective of your organization being represented in the footer of all published works - something to consider.
I'm sorry I can't offer much more insight into this particular dilemma without further information, but it is probably in your best interests to consider removing it as a back-linking partner.
A site audit or consulting with an SEO firm might help clarify the situation further.
Hope this helps and best of luck - no one likes seeing losses as a result of poor linking practices from any source!

Tumblr links
I have several Tumblr blogs. Created when Tumblr links were worth more, and now primarily for my amusement. But, I'd like to get whatever link juice I can out of them. I thought only the footer links were do follow, but when I check Moz it's showing all links as do follow. Any idea which is true?

Google WMT/search console: Thousands of "Links to your site" even only one back-link from a website.
Hi, I can see in my search console that a website giving thousands of links to my site where hardly only one back-link from one of their page to our page. Why this is happening? Here is screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/VleUf

Domain Authority... http://www.domain.com/ vs. http://domain.com vs. http://domain.com/
Hey Guys, Looking at Page Authority for my Site and ranking them in Decending Order, I see these 3 http://www.domain.com/ | Authority 62 http://domain.com | Authority 52 http://domain.com/ | Authority 52 Since the first one listed has the highest Authority, should I be using a 301 redirects on the lower ranking variations (which I understand how works) or should I be using rel="canonical" (which I don't really understand how it works) Also, if this is a problem that I should address, should we see a significant boost if fixed? Thanks ahead of time for anyone who can help a lost sailor who doesn't know how to sail and probably shouldn't have left shore in the first place. Cheers ZP!

Should I try to change these links or no?
Hey guys, I need some advice on a link profile I'm currently working on. Our client sells a product in the hunting industry and has been around for over ten years. I just finished up classifying and looking at all of their links today and found that around half of them are sponsor links, links on "link pages," and a few directory links with almost all of them being followed. Because we are the first company to do SEO for them, I know that these aren't maliciously solicited links, but I'm worried that they may be having a negative impact on the site. Most of the links are coming from other non-competing websites in the outdoor industry which typically tends to have very antiquated sites with very antiquated practices. Essentially, I don't want to go out and try to nofollow or disavow all of these links that the website has had for a long time on other related websites if they're helping us, but I also don't want to be leaving anything up that could algorithmically be identified as spam. Below are some examples to show you what I'm referring to by the sponsor links and link resource pages. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks! Link anchor text: only useful for pages linked to directly or distributed across site?
As a SEO I understand that link anchor text for the focus keyword on the page linked to is very important, but I have a question which I can not find the answer to in any books or blogs, namely: does inbound anchor text 'carry over' to other pages in your site, like linkjuice? For instance, if I have a homepage focusing on keyword X and a subpage (with internal links to it) focusing on keyword Y. Does is then help to link to the homepage with keyword Y anchor texts? Will this keyword thematically 'flow through' the internal link structure and help the subpage's ranking? In a broader sense: will a diverse link anchor text profile to your homepage help all other pages in your domain rank thematically? Or is link anchor text just useful for the direct page that is linked to? All views and experiences are welcome! Kind regards, Joost van Vught
