Adroll for Retargeting Campaign
-
Hi guys,
Wondering if anyone can comment on their experience using Adroll, especially in terms of it's performance in comparison to Google Adwords retargeting campaigns.
Thx!

Hey David!
I manage all of our retargeting and online marketing efforts here at Moz. We actually use AdRoll so we might be a little biased.
With that said, I've had nothing but great experiences with AdRoll. As John mentioned above, in order to run retargeting ads through the Facebook Exchange, you have to go through one of the ad partner networks. So, that's one major advantage right there of running with AdRoll over Google Remarketing.
We've seen amazing results with CTR's of 3-10% on Facebook retargeting ads (especially newsfeed ads) so I highly recommend at least testing it.
I also agree with John that AdRoll's customer service is fantastic. We have a dedicated account team there who is super responsive and all around great folks to partner with.
Hope that helps!

We've been using Adroll for a few years now, and I can say we're very happy with them. Their performance is on-par with Google Adwords. We're now using them also to get our retargeting ads into Facebook (including in news feed ads), and we're seeing good results from those. You can't set those up without an ad partner, so it was nice for us that that relationship already existed.
Adroll, vs. any other company I've worked for in the online advertising space, has the best reps I've ever worked with. They get back to me the same day when I write to them, with detailed intelligent responses. They take appropriate and timely actions to make optimizations in our account.
As far as I know, none of the retargeting platforms are completely self service which in general I strongly prefer. With Adroll, I don't mind as much, as the reps are so responsive.
Also, I met with their head of product not too long ago, and they have some really cool things in their pipeline over there that I think will contribute even more to our success through their platform.

I've been eyeing them too. My only experience so far in in having their re-targeting follow me around the web. Just chiming in to keep an eye on what responses you get.

Session and conversion data missing from AdWords campaigns in Analytics
Hi all, For a client of ours, we're not seeing session & conversion data for AdWords campaigns in Analytics. We are seeing click & cost data. Adwords and Analytics are linked and autotagging is enabled. The site where we're experiencing this problem is www.maxifleur-plantes-artificielles.fr. It's a Magento-based store with the Web Cooking Universal Analytics extension installed. The bulk of AdWords traffic is landing on the page www.maxifleur-plantes-artificielles.fr/plantes-artificielles, which has no active redirects that could remove the ?gclid parameter for as far as I can tell. Yet, click IDs that I manually tested won't show up in the reports either. Mid April, all traffic aside from direct traffic just disappeared from the reports. Google's Tag Assistant gives a lot of errors, but in the source code the snippet looks just fine and we don't have problems with other web shops that use the aforementioned extension. Suggestions as to what could be the problem are most welcome. Thanks! Bas

Google Shopping Campaigns
We have noticed a noticable (typo correction) drop in Adword sales since switching to the new Google Shopping Campaigns in Google Adwords. I have just posted a comment to a Fellow Mozzer on here, as this reflects in his question too. Has anyone else noticed this?

Retargeting and Display Advertising - Moz data
Hello Dr Moz'ers So we have a new competitor in our market (6 months) that has basically copied our business model 100%, grrrr. We have been in the market since 2008 .This new website is ranking well considering how difficult our market is. This new website is using the re-targeting display advertising and within 6 months his Moz data is showing around 45,000 back links, is this because of the re-targeting display advertising? Is there any link juice from the re-targeting display advertising because the MOz data says the site has 100% follow even though its an image. Cheers

Broad vs. Exact in Brand Campaign
Hey guys, I was looking through my "Brand" campaign, and I noticed that my costs are running a little higher than I'd like to be spending. I've got my brand search term (Strutta) set on broad, since I just recently started the brand campaign about 2-weeks ago. However, I've noticed that I'm spending around $1 on most clicks even though my QS is at 9/10. In my previous experience, I've been able to pay pennies on brand search terms. I know that I have a competitor that's trying to snipe my brand searches, but I don't really want to be paying this much for branded clicks. Would it be a good idea to check my search terms, build out a larger list of exact match terms, and just go with exact match? Do you guys usually use broad in your Brand campaigns, or exact?

Put AdWords mobile ads in separate Campaign or AdGroup?
We want to ramp up traffic from the segment "Mobile with Full Browser" under enhanced campaigns in Google AdWords. Our Google rep said that it would be best to do this from within the same campaign. We're contemplating pulling the mobile traffic conversion effort out into its own campaign in order to more easily track performance. Background: We bid down traffic from "Mobile with Full Browser" to -100% because initially it performed poorly. We've improved our mobile experience and we want to try again. We're contemplating building mobile versions of our current ads using the AdWords functionality that does this, and watching how the mobile ads and the segment "Mobile with Full Browser" responds this time. Separate campaign or from within the same campaign. What would you do? Thanks,

Cost of Retargeting (Remarketing) Ad Clicks
If you run an Adwords banner campaign with retargeting, how is the cost per click determined? My hunch is that it would be different than text ads in search result pages.

Does an AdWord campaign affect your rankings?
Say for instance you are in the business of "lawn mower repair," and you are ranking for that keyword. If you were doing an AdWord campaign on that keyword, would that also affect your organic rankings in the SERPs for that keyword?

PPC Campaign Setup Fee - Fair?
We already do our PPC campaigns with an agency and we're looking to create another campaign. They told us that the amount of traffic around our campaign would allow for about $2-3k spend per month, possibly with some additional funds placed into display ads. For this campaign, they have proposed a setup fee of $2k and an increased management fee of $750 -- is this a reasonable price?
