The .org address is also the link from the Wikipedia article on the museum; you should probably edit that as well.

Webmaster Tools thumbnail image
I just noticed that my images on Webmaster Tools are not my sites, they are some shopping site. If I refresh, it goes back to mine, refresh again, back to shopping. It is a known issue in the Webmaster Tools forum but has anyone seen this type of thing before?

RE: Is Google indexing something I can't see on my page title?
There is a wikipedia article using the old name: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hull_Colour_Pages
I bet that editing that would go a long way to fixing your problem...

RE: Is Google indexing something I can't see on my page title?
This has happened to me as well, having an old name show up in the search results. Google does not always use what you put in the title tag for the page title if it thinks that something else is more relevant.
In my case, there were still a good number of external links to the site with the old name being the anchor text, which is where Google got it, I assume. I see on your site that variations on "Colour Pages" are used in a number of your links; maybe that's where Google is picking it up.

RE: Merge google plus and google plus business
I actually just had that same situation come up, and this is what I found:
"The new tool, which is a part of the company's Google Takeout data-liberation service, allows users to elect a master Google+ account and transfer circles and other information to one main profile, instead of having two separate accounts. For those that make the transfer, you will only be able to log in with the email address associated with the primary Google+ profile."

RE: Does my font look good in this?
On a side note, you apologize for the title of your question but looking at the number of views for each of the questions this morning, this one has quite a few views compared to the others. An example of a good title increasing clicks, I think.

RE: Path of Moz Crawler Report?
If you want to look at your most recent crawl report, go to your campaign from "campaigns" on the Moz ribbon and click "view this campaign". That will take you to the overview page, where you can click "see all crawl alerts" which shows you your crawl report. You then have the option to export it as a pdf or csv.

RE: ALT tagging images with keyword. What is too much?
Alt tags are used to convey information to people who cannot see the images, so they should always be used (unless the image is just decorative). If the images are different, use different alt tags.

RE: Blog articles on website vs submitting to article submission sites
Yes, there is a down side to putting them in both places and that is duplicate content. You can use cross-domain canonicals to indicate which is the original one, but if you don't have control over the other site, you cannot be sure they will cooperate.
-
RE: Blog articles on website vs submitting to article submission sites
It can sometimes make sense to submit content to a site that has higher visibility and traffic than yours to get the exposure, but in general the best place to put your own content is on your own site, certainly if you want to rank for target keywords.
Also, you mention that you had some articles created for a client. Keep in mind that if this is content that is churned out in bulk, it is not likely to do well. You should make a point of using unique and high quality material.

RE: Google+ Listings - Strange
Here is an article by Mark Traphagen: Google+ Profile PageRank: The Real AuthorRank? - SMX Advanced 2013 in which he mentions G+ pages in the SERPs. The Google+ Fitness and Nutrition community was apparently ranking on the first page for "fitness and nutrition", though this week they are on page two. Perhaps we will be seeing more of this.

RE: Is there any tool that checks the rankings at any time I want?
I use a free Firefox extension from seobook called Rank Checker.

RE: Tools to check Google Local SEO with suggestions.
Moz has getListed.org ( https://getlisted.org/ ). If you input your business name and zip code you can see where and how you are listed and claim your site/make corrections as needed.

RE: Finding competitors best keywords?
You can use Google adwords keyword tool; just enter a competitor's url in the "website" field and choose the "keyword" tab. This will give you a list of keywords that Google suggests for the site which should give you an idea of what they are targeting.
SEMRush (a paid tool) makes it easy. It will give you the words your competitor is ranking for as well as the words they are using for paid search.

RE: Why do all traffic curves show a "saw tooth" pattern in Google Analytics
I see something similar; in my case it's because we get less traffic on weekends, so there is a weekly sawtooth. Do your dips correspond to weekends?

RE: Page rank check
Wait till Google crawls your page again. You will know when this is by checking the date on the cached version of the page, which you can find by doing a search for the URL of the page you are interested in, then clicking on the little green down arrow next to the URL in the search result.

RE: Are the on page report cards graded according to the keywords associated with your campaign only?
The report cards are generated for your keywords (the ones associated with your campaign) that rank in the top 50 positions in the SERPs; the page that is graded is the page that resulted in that term being in that position.
In other words, the fact that you have a report card for a page means that page is already ranking in the top 50 for the term associated with the report.
So if you got a report card for the page that you are optimizing for the phrase "outdoor wedding venues in Las Vegas" and it was associated with the phrase "Las Vegas wedding venues" it means that page is currently ranking in the top 50 for "Las Vegas wedding venues". Even if that isn't the phrase you are specifically trying for, it can be a good thing when a page can rank for multiple variants.
What I like about these reports is that they enable me to see which pages are actually performing for my keywords (sometimes, not the ones I'd expect).

RE: Google cache tool help
Yes. Once you get to the cached page, on the bottom right of the grey bar at the top is a link that says "text-only version". Click on that, and there you have it.
-
RE: Google cache tool help
Is there some particular reason you want to do it that way?
If you use the URL you are interested in as a search term, you can just click on the little green down arrow next to the green URL in the SERP and choose cache; this will show you what Google has cached and when it was cached.

RE: Anybody having success with Cross-Domain canonical?
Yes I have done it and yes it seems to be working.
The daughter of the owner of the company I work for published an article on her site which we reprinted on ours, using the rel=canonical tag to indicate that her site had the original.
When I search for a string from the article, her site comes up and ours does not.

RE: OSE stats for 2 site: searoundus.org and www.seaaroundus.org.
In your question, you wrote searoundus.org and www.seaaroundus.org as the two URLs you were comparing.
The first one is written with one "a" and the second with two. If those are actually the versions you were comparing, that would make a big difference.
If it's seaaroundus.org vs www.seaaroundus.org, the vast majority of the links are to www.seaaroundus.org and that is the form Google is preferring in the search results. (It does still need a redirect.)

RE: Where have the 'most changed keyword rankings' gone from the weekly summary emails?
Yes, I liked those as well. Very handy for knowing right away if there is a problem that needs looking at immediately.

RE: Overnight Drop In Rankings
This might not be anything you are doing; Google is having a little stormy weather right now. You can take a look at Google's volatility here: http://mozcast.com/

Hopefully someone in SEOMoz technical support will notice this question and comment...

RE: Why is Google Displaying this image in the search results?
That is not the picture I see (I see a street view) but if you go into your Google places account (I am assuming this is your site) you can upload pictures and make other changes.

RE: Google Authorship Not Working
Google doesn't guarantee that the author picture will show up and whether or not the picture shows up varies, depending on the searcher's search term.
Writing more under a particular byline seems to help.

My Mozbar SERP overlay stopped working when I updated to Firefox 20.0!
I tried restarting Firefox, rebooting my computer (Mac), uninstalling and reinstalling the Mozbar, still nothing. I use that data a lot, so I'd love to get it back...

RE: Why dont we get G+ profile images in SERP?
Supposedly, once you have verified authorship, Google should take it from there.
I have tried adding direct links on posts to Google+: "Joakim Westman can be found on Google Plus" (which then links to the author's Google+ profile).
The author biography pages on my site almost always come up in the serps with pictures, and I link those back to their Google+ pages as well.
But really, my best indicator has been the more the author writes, the more they show up.
As far as Google not trusting you, I'd look at the overall picture, not display in serps. Google is always messing around with display, for their own reasons.
-
RE: Why dont we get G+ profile images in SERP?
You have it set up correctly. You can use Google's structured data testing tool to see how the images would look: http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets
Google doesn't guarantee to show authorship information, that's just a possibility and can depend what the person was searching for.
For my site, I find that the pictures that are most likely to show up in the search results are the pictures of the authors who write the most.

RE: How long to wait before judging changes?
Have your page come up in a search (you can always search for the url) and hover over it. Arrows will appear to the right of the result. Hover over them, and a preview of the cached copy will appear. Click on the word "cached" and it will bring up the cached version of the page, with a date at the top. (This works slightly differently in different browsers I have seen, but something like this will bring up the cache.) http://www.googleguide.com/cached_pages.html
-
RE: How long to wait before judging changes?
I usually wait until the pages that I made changes to are crawled again. I determine this by looking at the date of Google's cached copy.

I noticed that my company owns a few exact match domains that are relevant to our business. Is it worth doing anything other than just redirecting them to our homepage?
It turns out we own a few exact match domains that are relevant to our business. Is it worth doing anything other than just redirecting? (We have owned these sites for a long time, over 15 years.)
The keywords are moderate to low in traffic and moderate to high in competitiveness. (Right now they 301 to our main site.)
I know exact match is not as valuable as it used to be and that there are mixed opinions about microsites...

RE: Is it better to have a blog under your main website's domain or should the company's blog have its own domain?
Thank you for your responses!
I have a corollary question- if the blog is on a different domain does that make links from the blog to the main site more valuable (because they are not internal links) or is it a negative (seen as unnatural link building), assuming the blog ranks decently on its own?
And if the answer is still that it's best that the blog be on the parent domain, what would be the best way to move an existing outside blog in?

Is it better to have a blog under your main website's domain or should the company's blog have its own domain?
And if the blog is on its own domain, do links to the main site look good or bad to Google?
Thanks! (And please feel free to add any other related advice you might have...)

RE: Beginner - needs to better understand rel=canonical. What is the best resource?
They need it if they are exact duplicates or highly similar. It is not used for pages that just have the same keyword but are otherwise different.

RE: Anyone seeing a big drop in links showing in Google webmaster tools?
It looked like I had lost about 80% of my links, but they are back now. The "Links to Your Site" summary page still shows the lower number but if I download a list of links, I see that they are there. (A couple of days ago, the downloaded list also had the lower number.)

RE: Webmaster tools help
The "not selected" pages are separate from the indexed pages; you can even have more not selected pages than indexed pages. Here is a useful link: http://www.seroundtable.com/google-index-status-advanced-15479.html
