Do you have a Pinterest Strategy?
-
I'm pinning because it's fun, but I'm getting some nice traffic and benefits to my websites.
One of my sites has received over 100 links from Pinterest users, plus some embeds on users own personal sites.

The average pinner is female and between 25 and 45 years of age. Do you have any visual content that might appeal to her?

I love your tall and narrow strategy. I have a marketing board where I pin lots of infographics. If you want your pins shared on Facebook (and perhaps Google+ as well) they can't be wider than 520px. Even 521 will generate a link instead of an image.
http://pinterest.com/juliemarg/get-on-the-map I've got 350 people following this board. ;^D

Hi Julie,
This is more of an answer to "Do you have a Pinterest strategy?" than content appealing specifically to woman between 25 and 25, but here are three strategies that I've had luck with on Pinterest:
1) Build "tall" content
Take advantage of the medium and start building content with long height and short width, such as:
Frankly I think those are going to be a huge trend in 2012. Pinterest sometimes displays them in full length form, and sometimes they don't, I haven't figured out why yet. Either way, they stick out in feeds, and they're fun to click on. They're certainly worth testing, especially if you can do some sort of format like "5 Great Wedding Invites" that's already going to be super pin-worthy.
2) Reach out to popular curators
Find the people who already have huge followings with your demographic, and reach out to them just like any other blogger. Interact with them on Pinterest, comment on their pins, and most importantly, re-pin and like their stuff. This should be done hand-in-hand with other relationships you'd form on social media, blogging, etc., and shouldn't be done in a Pinterest vacuum - most of these people have followings elsewhere, too.
3) Developing lots of followers by following lots of boards after developing your own boards
This is more of a way to develop more followers, but it will allow you to seed tons of your own content and build a following for your own site.
Many people are still early in their Pinteresting and they're looking for people to follow with similar interests. Essentially, use the internal Pinterest search to find people with keywords in the name of their boards, and following all of those boards, will net a pretty high return of new followers if they visit your profile and see tons of good pins in categories they like (arrange your best boards towards the top).

Authorship without Google+ - Ideas and strategies
Hi everyone, I am currently coaching several companies on Content Marketing, Authorship etc and how to implement these techniques at an institutional level - more here. My question is - Can an author reap the benefits of authorship in all search engines simultaneously without linking to Google + and becoming entangled in the Google Circles phenomena? I know don't laugh. 🙂 I know it seems like an ignorant question, but there must be a way. Is there a possibility of doing this with Author Schema's http://schema.org/Article? Will Google treat them the same way as Google +? My clients are not happy about getting so entangled with Google + and leaving out the other search engines. Thanks Carla

Employing Pinterest for SEO gain.
Hi I wanted to see if the SEO team have had any feedback from members who have started to use Pinterest. I've had it for a month or so now and I've been adding pins every day since - (quite addictive actually). What is interesting is the gender element to the people who are following and repinning my pins and boards i.e. female. It would be interesting to understand why this the case, why is it so popular with female users. Ultimately I'm tyring to guage the benefits of employing Pinterest for SEO purposes and whether its worth keeping it in my arsenal of social tools. Any insights welcome. http://pinterest.com/visualizations Best David

Incentivisation Strategies for Social Sharing of Product Pages
Hey, What are some great tips for gaining social shares on ecommerce product or category pages? I understand great images and video will go along way, but it's difficult on a large scale ecommerce store. Receiving an offer for sharing something is great - I honestly cant think of a way to track this strategy in a large scale manner. I can send an email after a purchase making an offer to go back to the page to share, but how would I track this? Thanks.
